John lives within the seafaring community in Ghana’s Western Region with his parents and five siblings. He is in class 3 and is advancing his education level with the Pockets of Promise after-school program. Over the past few years, life has become more complex than ever before, relying almost entirely on the catch of the day. A decrease in daily hauls from the ocean has had a detrimental impact on John’s family income and nutritional needs.
Pockets of Promise is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt social justice charitable organization dedicated to changing the lives of poor children around the world through education and proper nutrition. We are headquartered in Atlanta, GA with centers currently in Africa and Asia. All contributions designated for specific projects shall be applied to those projects. Contributions which exceed the needs of the given project will go to fund similar pressing needs.
