Pockets of Promise is a 501c3 incorporated in Georgia. It is run by a volunteer board of servant leaders who have a passion to make a difference using their gifts and talents for God’s glory.

Ernest is a senior oncology clinical research professional in the pharmaceutical industry. Born in Ghana, West Africa, Ernest grew up in a broken home and had to fend for himself at a very young age when his mother died unexpectedly. He was able to break the cycle of poverty through education and help from a total stranger. The hardship he suffered has fueled a passion to rescue children from the snare of poverty.
Co-Founder
JoAnne Owens had successful careers in both banking and banking and nonprofit leadership. Her specialty was finance and operations. Now retired, she and her husband travel full time in a motorhome. JoAnne works in the areas of accounting and organization improvement.
Child Ambassador
Stephanie is a global finance professional who has held multiple roles across business strategy, impact finance and strategic partnerships. She has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, an MSc. Finance from the University of Strathclyde and a BSc. Business Administration from University of Ghana.

Abena Ankrah works in Washington, D.C. managing a department of more than thirty employees within the intellectual property department of a multi-state law firm with Fortune 500 clients.
She’s married with three children and resides in Virginia with her family.

Rajiv is a Wealth Manager with strong family ties to India and Africa. He graduated from the University of Florida with his bachelors degree in Finance, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER.
Pockets of Promise is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt social justice charitable organization dedicated to changing the lives of poor children around the world through education and proper nutrition. We are headquartered in Atlanta, GA with centers currently in Africa and Asia. All contributions designated for specific projects shall be applied to those projects. Contributions which exceed the needs of the given project will go to fund similar pressing needs.
